What's Old Is New Again
The roots of our practice are in family dentistry, and while this was once common, the past few decades has seen a shift away from this model of care towards a large, corporatised clinic based approach. While this is convenient for some patients, we believe this can lack the personal care and warmth that a true family dental practice can provide. That’s why we designed our practice like a home, to make visiting the dentist like visiting a friend.
As family’s grow and change, so do the oral health needs. This is why we provide comprehensive care for children and adults of all ages with an emphasis on prevention rather than cure. Our dentists Dr Kate, Dr Theresa and Dr Sam have wide ranging and complementary clinical skills that will ensure your family is always in safe hands no matter what.

Ethical Dental has been a family run practice servicing the Coffs Harbour community for over 50 years. We have treated generations of Coffs Harbour families and our patients keep coming back because they know how much we care. We are one of the only dentists in the area to provide an after-hours service so you can have the peace of mind that you and your family will be looked after in an emergency.

We don’t have a one size fits all approach to dental care, and never make blanket recommendations for 6 monthly checkups. We are very proud of our personalised approach to preventative care, which means as part of every checkup, all patient will receive a customised oral health disease risk assessment and personalised preventative care plan to ensure life-long oral health.
White (Mercury-Free) Fillings
Our restorative services utilise the latest bonding and filling technology. We care about the materials we use, and have consciously chosen them based on their environmental impact, biocompatibility, and longevity. We use the latest technology and techniques to ensure any treatment can be completed in a calm and caring way, with sedation and hospital services available if required.
Orthodontics
For us, Orthodontics is not just about straightening teeth — it’s about airway and facial development, ensuring a comfortable and stable bite, and a beautiful life-long smile. The phrase “a stitch in time, saves nine” relates to orthodontics, which is why every regular checkup for your family involves orthodontic assessment. Often early intervention can mean the difference between a simple plate, and full braces.
